IntegraRack MultiBallast DB™ 5° Flat Roof Solar Mounting Kit
The IntegraRack MultiBallast DB™ 5° Roof Mounting Kit offers a flexible, non-penetrating solution for solar panel installations on compatible rooftops. Manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminum, this modular system supports both 0° flat and 5° North/South solar panel configurations. In addition, installers can choose between adhesive bonding and concrete block ballast methods, depending on the approved installation design.
Each kit provides mounting components for one solar panel position. However, IntegraRack requires one additional kit to start each column of panels. As a result, installers can calculate the required mounting hardware according to their array layout.
Two Solar Panel Mounting Configurations
The MultiBallast DB system supports two mounting configurations. First, installers can position panels at 0° for a flat, low-profile arrangement. Alternatively, they can select a 5° North/South configuration when the installation design calls for a slight tilt.
Furthermore, the 5° configuration can accommodate an optional wind spoiler for each solar panel. Wind spoilers are separate accessories and require verification of compatibility and installation requirements.
Non-Penetrating Adhesive or Ballast Installation
The IntegraRack MultiBallast DB mounting system offers two attachment methods. For adhesive installations, the manufacturer specifies SikaFlex 1A polyurethane sealant, which customers must purchase separately. This method bonds the mounting hardware to an approved roof surface without conventional roof-penetrating base fasteners.
Alternatively, installers can use standard concrete masonry unit (CMU) blocks as ballast. This option provides another installation method where the roof structure and approved system design can support the required ballast loads. However, the manufacturer does not include CMU blocks with the mounting kit.
Before installation, verify roof compatibility, surface preparation, wind uplift resistance, structural loading, and local building requirements. In addition, follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions for the selected attachment method.
Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Construction
IntegraRack manufactures the MultiBallast DB components from aircraft-grade aluminum with a mill finish. Consequently, the system combines relatively lightweight construction with strength and corrosion resistance for suitable rooftop applications.
The modular design also simplifies planning for different array sizes. Moreover, the included brackets, grip strips, and mounting hardware provide the primary components for each solar panel position.

- 4 IR-F2 flange clamp bonding brackets
- 4 bolts measuring 10 mm
- 2 bolts measuring 20 mm
- 2 40 × 40 mm 3M double-stick pads
- 4 40 × 40 mm anti-friction rubber pads
Important: SikaFlex 1A sealant, CMU ballast blocks, and optional wind spoilers are not listed among the included hardware.
Modular Solar Array Planning
IntegraRack requires one mounting kit per solar panel, plus one additional kit to start each column. For example, an array containing six panels in one column requires seven kits. Likewise, a twelve-panel array arranged in three columns requires fifteen kits.
Therefore, customers should confirm their solar array layout before ordering. Additionally, installers should determine whether the project requires adhesive bonding, ballast blocks, or optional wind spoilers.
